The Warrumbungles is one of the hidden gems of Australia. It is one of those places that people visit and think:

“I can’t believe I haven’t done this earlier!”

This area really took us by surprise and is a classic volcanic area with incredible bushland and majestic rock formations.

But the day time experience is only the beginning: unimpeded by artificial light, the Warrumbungles is Australia’s only “Dark Sky Park,” which means you will have visions of the Milky Way, constellations and planets like never before.

It is truly stunning!

And so, this a trek like no other - and we would love for you to join us!

During this fully-guided and catered weekend camping trek, you will only carry your day pack. We will be staying at a local campsite with hot showers and fire pits. Three meals a day will be provided. All you need to bring is a tent, a chair, sleeping bag & mat and your walking boots. Oh and don’t forget a beer or bottle of red for the evening while gazing at the universe in all its detailed beauty!

What is a "Dark Sky Park?"

Dark Sky Parks are natural spaces which are unimpeded by artificial light and produce exceptionally starry nights. As such, they are protected for their scientific, natural, educational, cultural heritage, and/or public enjoyment.

The Warrumbungle National Park is Australia's first Dark Sky Park and the first in the southern hemisphere. The lack of artificial light combines with low humidity and high altitude to make this trek one you will never forget!
